Fun Run and Dress up... Kids being kids!

One of my philosophies on education is to be a "responsive teacher". I adapt our schedule, lessons, etc. in response to what I see as their needs in class. Academically, this group is STELLAR. They sometimes struggle with social skills like cooperative learning or sharing, or even initiating social conversation though.

So... I have intentionally made time to let them socialize and be kids!! Getting back to the old days where imaginary/role-play was a part of their schedule and allowed them to... BE KIDS!

It has been so much fun. We are LOVING all of the dress-up things you all have sent in, and it's been great to see them interacting so well. Check out some pictures of this (and Fun Run) below!

And welcome to our new student, James!! He has fit in perfectly, and we have so enjoyed adding him to our kindergarten family this week.

Jammies Day!!

We were WAY too cozy all day in our jammies with our favorite stuffed animals. What a fun day! Thanks for all your support with Boosterthon which helped us earn this reward. :)

JCA Field Trip

Our first field trip was a success! The JCA Magic Wardrobe Theatre put on a WONDERFUL show of the Three Little Pigs. The giggles were endless as the characters ran through the audience, under the tables, brought kids on stage, and danced all over! :) Definitely a fun production!
